Now that memories of that awful Great Gatsby movie have faded- although big props to the costume designer, because WOW- let’s talk Art Deco! For me, the Art Deco movement and Couture go hand in hand. Just look at that jaw dropping Reem Acra gown. Incredible. It is so glamorous and somehow, no matter what decade you place it in or what medium you use (paper, glass, precious gems, architecture, fabric, to name a few), it always looks so fresh and undeniably chic. I find the glam factor, the hits of gold, and the many ways you can interpret it make it especially suited to formal weddings. Beware though, as with any style, it can get costume-y, but as with mid-century mod styling which is so huge right now, the right dose of art deco doled out with just the right pieces can get your wedding perfectly on point.

Umm everything here screams Great Gatsby. And that was a wonderful movie and book! How are you calling it awful.
I’m gonna get married again – just to use this theme. <3
Lol it screams Art Deco, actually. No further comment on that movie haha š I want an invite to your re-wedding!
Ha!! At this rate you’ll be doing the invites / decor.
I guess its like Pepsi – no one days hand me a carbonated beverage, they say grab me a Pepsi/Coke.
No one says I want my theme to be Art Deco, it’s just Gatsby themed.
You leave us fashion novices to our simple vocab. š
Lol you’re hilarious!
