Today’s post was so much fun to put together and it was really, really hard to stop at just ten things. This world has some very creative and gifted designers and makers, y’all. It’s hard not to get excited so I just gave up and got really excited instead. Huzzah! Since last week’s roundup was all about black and white Scandinavian style for kids, today I thought I would tip my hat to 10 colourful mid-century modern goods for kids.

1. Parker Red Mid Century Modern Strung Steel Wire Pendant Light
This light has my heart. I love the red, I love the design, and I love how much personality it would bring to a playroom.
2. Touch the Art: Pop Warhol’s Top by Julie Appel
This one’s a real find, guys. A touch and feel book featuring classic works by Warhol, Lichtenstein and more. What a great introduction to some amazing artists.
3. Pantone Colors
If you love design and if you love color, you absolutely must buy this! Buy it for your own bookshelf if you haven’t got any kids. If you do have kids, you’ll have such a great time exploring gradients and shades of every color with them. (Btw, if you’re like me and dying a little every time you spell color without a “u”, there is a British version available with the “u.” Whew!)

4. Laser Beams and 5. Mixed Lollies II
Inaluxe are an amazing Australian design duo. I own three of their pieces for our home- different from the ones pictured here- but amazing nonetheless. If I had my way, I’d probably own 15. I love them that much, and clearly also have a problem with restraint. But what can you do? If you love something, you love something, amirite? These are perfect for a playroom. What kid wouldn’t love these fun, graphic shapes and colours, and please, a cat with laser beams shooting out of it’s eyes? Sold.
6. Vitra Panton Junior Chair in Orange
I want one in every colour, stat.
7. ZM Home 23″ Tulip Side Table
This is technically a side table, but it’s high enough and large enough that it would make a great place for the kids to sit and colour or do crafts. It also comes in yellow, red, and black! So cute.
8. Little Red Riding Hood Doll by Blita
Not only is this completely adorable, but it can also be customized on the back with a tag and the name of the little person you are buying this for! You can also buy a full set with the wolf and the grandma too! Love.
9. Eames® Hang-It-All, Multicolored
I’ve been wanting this forever and ever. It’s perfect for raincoats, bags and little fedoras.
10. Paper City by Mr. Printables via DesignLifeKids
DesignLifeKids is one of my favourite stores for children’s goods, and its because they carry toys like this adorable foldable paper city. The design, the colours, and such a great concept. Who says kid’s toys have to be horrible plastic noisemakers, right? There’s room for modern design everywhere!
I hope you found this list of 10 mid-century modern goods for kids inspiring!
Until next time,
