“One man’s ways may be as good as another’s, but we all like our own best.”
– Jane Austen, Persuasion
Ain’t that the truth! Before the Boy and the Baby made their blessed debuts in our lives, Sunday mornings were for sleeping in leading eventually to a late brunch with friends, an afternoon walk in the sunshine, siesta time and eventually curling up with a book before falling asleep. It was the perfect end to the working week and it left us so refreshed and recharged to face Monday. Those Sundays are gone forever around these here parts. They’ve been replaced with play dates and park visits, menu planning, and prepping for an extremely busy week ahead. I love my children and wouldn’t change a thing, but I’ll admit that sometimes, I do miss those Sundays. On the rare occasions when I wake up before anyone else and the house is quiet and still, I make myself a cup of my favourite English Breakfast tea, snuggle on the couch, and re-read Persuasion for the five-hundredth time. Not having this luxury on a weekly basis makes it all the more pleasurable when I do have the chance to indulge and that is worthwhile in and of itself. Tell me about your Sunday morning rituals, friends. Are they calm and quiet or full of activity and energy? I would love to know!
1. Tazo Awake English Breakfast Tea | 2. Girl Boss Mug by RexLambo | 3. Ikea Eivor Throw | 4. Persuasion by Jane Austen (I can’t seem to find this particular cover anymore. It’s the one I own and bought many years ago, but luckily, a different cover doesn’t mean a thing to the content inside. Persuasion is my favourite novel of all of Jane Austen’s works and I highly recommend it!)
