Sometimes, it’s the simplest things that make the most sense. Lately, I’ve been finding myself agreeing with that sentiment more and more. Although we cleared everything out and sold/got rid of almost everything we owned before we moved, six months in, I find we’re slowly creeping back towards the clutter. This is unintentional, of course, maybe a side effect of a busy family life? Nonetheless, I’ve decided to stop the march towards “too much” before it gets out of hand and bring us back to the newly-discovered pleasures of living a minimal life. It truly does make a difference to your mental health and well being when you walk into a room that is furnished with just what you need, simple but comfortable. Books in their places, beds covered in fresh linens, walls and windows clear and open. I find it gives me such a sense of calmness and peace. Here are 5 pins that are inspiring me today and encouraging me to pack up, clean up, and admire the negative spaces in between.
What are your thoughts, friends? Do you lean towards “less is more” or is “too much of a good thing never enough”?
