Artwork is such an integral part of home decor, no? Personally, I’m partial to oversized pieces everywhere but particularly in nurseries and kid’s rooms because you can add such charm and impact with just a single piece.

I would like this room for myself, please. All white, serene, that lovely birdcage light fixture, the geometric red and white rug, and above all, that so-simple-but-so-stylish red apple poster. Via Planete Deco.
If your budget doesn’t stretch to a larger canvas, consider engineer prints. These are an extremely cost-effective DIY that just requires a little bit of Photoshop know-how to ensure the crispest image. If you’d like to know the nuts and bolts (Hah! See what I did there? Engineers? Nuts, bolts? #hilarious) of working with engineer prints Chris loves Julia did a great breakdown. All that’s left then is to add a simple frame and you’re good to go!
Of course, if DIY isn’t your jam, there are plenty of affordable options for acquiring oversized art- Society6 and Etsy are two of my favourite resources. I’m also partial to the prints at The Aestate. As always though, safety firsty, so if you’re hanging a print above a crib, bed or a change table, make sure it is bolted to the wall firmly, and use frames with plastic instead of glass such as the Nyttja line from Ikea. Bonus: they’re cheaper too!
And now on to some more great examples of oversized art in nurseries and kid’s spaces!

This lovely room belongs to Esther van de Paal’s daughter. In case you were wondering, Esther is the founder of the Babyccino blog. This whole room is wonderful- light, bright, pale blue walls to die for, and that gorgeous vintage circus poster. Via Design Mom.

At this point, Sharon Montrose and her animal prints have become symbols of clean, uncluttered, modern nurseries like this one. It’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll find her prints in stylish rooms all over the world, and this beautiful baby elephant print is no exception. Via The Brick House.

I spotted this room on Mini Style blog last week and I’m in love with it’s bohemian vibe! From that showstopping alphabet dresser to the woven wall hanging, colourful rug, and hello, oversized initial art, this room is perfect. Amy Pigliacampo’s daughter, Marlowe, is a lucky little girl! Via Mini Style blog.

Joni from Lay Baby Lay is a nursery style expert. Her design boards are always on point so is it any wonder her daughters’ have a room this adorable? Bonus: she designed the oversized dancing, balancing circus bear art and it’s for sale on Society6! Via Lay Baby Lay.

And lastly, I love this because oversized art doesn’t necessarily refer to prints and posters- this beautiful soothing room features a Ferm Living Kilim rug on the wall. I love that it adds texture and depth to this little blue and white room. Via Petit & Small.

So what do you think? Will you be adding oversized art to your child(ren)’s spaces?
Until next time,
The only problem with these divine pics is it makes me want to redecorate every time I see them!
Haha it’s a good problem to have! 😉
