So you know how we moved last week? There was a bit of back and forth to pick up the last few odds and ends but otherwise the move was smooth, the movers were amazing, we’re in the new house now, and I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome. We are more or less entirely unpacked (woo hoo!) except for the 8 cartons of books that came with us from Toronto. That’s a lot of books to store so the Mr. and I have decided to DIY a wall full of bookshelves which I am so excited about! I can’t wait to show you our process and the end result.
In the meantime, now that the living room has been set up and is larger than our previous one, I’ve realized we could probably do with a couple of armchairs to complete the look. Ideally, they need to be durable (i.e. child friendly) and last us at least two years. To that end, I’ve rounded up 6 of my favourite stylish and affordable mid-century modern armchairs. All of these are under $350 which is perfect when you need to buy two and you’re on a budget.
1. Arch Wood Lounge Chair $219.04 | 2. Taylor Navy Tufted-Back Accent Chair $229.99 | 3. Baxton Studio ‘Forza’ Red Fabric Mid-Century Modern Arm Chair $289 for 2! | 4. Urban Outfitters Modern Chair $279 On Sale! | 5. West Elm Book Nook Arm Chair Retro Weave, Feather Grey $349 | 6. Aeon Furniture Reggie Sidechair $239.99
Of all of these mid-century mod inspired armchair designs, that gorgeous bentwood Aeon Furniture Reggie Sidechair is at the top of my wish list followed closely by the Arch Wood Lounge Chair. I just love the fluidity of the shapes and I think they would fit in perfectly with the rest of the house. I’m also particularly loving the Taylor Navy Accent Chair. I love it’s masculine vibe and that shade of dark blue is gorgeous.
What do you think? Do any of these strike your fancy? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
