Hello friends! If you celebrate Christmas, I hope your party planning is going well. If not, I hope your vacation planning is underway and you’re heading somewhere festive and fun.
Speaking of festive, one of the biggest things on my to-do list is shopping for dinnerware. I’m a terribly clumsy person when it comes to dishes and so everything we own has lots of “character”, i.e. chipped edges.
Whilst shopping around I came across the Finnish design firm Iittala. They started off as a glass factory, and have since grown and expanded to include lots of ridiculously beautiful items for everyday use around the home, from table top to kitchen to furniture. What really caught my eye and inspired this post was the illustrated Tanssi dinnerware series by designer Klaus Haapaniemi. The dancing foxes, the fiddling deer, the pipe smoking rooster- they’re just so utterly delightful, I couldn’t help but build a modern, whimsical holiday table around them! Et voila!
