According to Houzz, “In the world of interior design, a vignette is a small, pleasing picture formed by grouping several objects — think of it as a pocket-size arrangement that tells a story about you and your home.”
When I was in Toronto this summer, I spent a lot of time at my best friend’s house. Armed with a degree in architecture, a successful business that revolves around creating pretty pictures, and a collection of carefully curated art and objects, Sara has created a truly beautiful home for herself and her young family. Over on Instagram, I shared a few photos of the vignettes she created- and that’s when I realized this topic was worthy of a blog post.
I chose to show you armchair vignettes specifically because they’re a great way to utilize the corners of your home (by adding functionality and style) but also because most of these work perfectly as reading nooks and every house deserves at least one of those! Here are 15 examples of drop dead gorgeous armchair vignettes and how to style them. I hope they inspire you to create something just as cozy and pretty in your own home! (FYI, you can shop my picks at the very end of this blog post.)

Did you notice how many blush pink armchairs made an appearance here? It was entirely unintentional but it just proves millenial pink is a pretty perfect neutral and here to stay. I can’t say I’m mad about it either!
To sum it up, armchair vignettes have five design elements: Start with a comfortable place to sit (obvs), layer a cozy rug or throw (or both!), add a few good books, accent lighting, and finish with a gallery wall of your favourite prints. Simple and inviting!

Hurray! I’m so glad I was able to help! I love all the pink ones too but I think my favourite is Marianna Hewitt’s pink arm chair. Is that the one you meant?
