Hello friends! In today’s volume of Friday Finds, I’m going to talk about 4 great podcasts for kids, I’ve got a round up of affordable and stylish desk essentials from Etsy, plus interior inspiration galore via the perforated prettiness of cane. Let’s dive in!
1. 4 Great Podcasts My Kids Love!
For clarity’s sake, my kids are 5.5 and nearly 9. Both of them enjoy these podcasts although the 5 year old has a shorter listening span, understandably, and I’ll point out the one she really loves to listen to further down this list. We started listening to these about a year ago and they are still often requested on the way home from school. We use the Apple Podcasts app to listen to them but you can use any podcast service you subscribe too. These are listed in no particular order.
First on the list of great podcasts for kids is Smash Boom Best. This is a fact-based debate podcast that features a rotating cast of adult debators with a new young adult judge in every episode. It is smart, fast-paced, funny, and snappy! Each episode is 38 minutes long and features lively debate, a brief lyrical intermission, and of course, lots of cool facts presented in fun ways. My husband and I enjoy this as much as the kids do, and my son is always thinking of ideas for the next round of debates!
Our favourite episodes: Pizza vs. Tacos followed by Superspeed vs Super Strength.

Our favourite episodes: The kids especially enjoyed the podcast on Video Games and I really loved the story of how Umbrellas were invented!

Each episode is about 20-24 minutes long which is a great length for a children’s podcast, in my opinion. Both my kids enjoy listening to these and we often end with a chat about what we just heard and their impressions of the story.
Our favourite episode: Stella and the Dragon
I hope you find this list of great podcasts for kids helpful while you navigate this new normal. At the very least, I think they could count as homeschooling too!
2. Best of Etsy: Stylish, Affordable & Minimalist Desk Accessories

3. The Perforated Prettiness of Cane
If you’ve been on Instagram or Pinterest at all, in the last six months, you will surely have noticed the resurgence in rattan and cane furniture and accessories. The neutral hues and perforated patterns in cane hark back to simpler times and simply ooze style when paired with contemporary modern and clean interiors. A quiet but distinctive style statement, it is seemingly everywhere, and I’m not mad about it one bit! Here are some beautiful interiors featuring cane details.
But first: Did you know the difference between Wicker, Rattan and Cane? According to Hunker, “Wicker refers to the method, while rattan alludes to the material. Cane also refers to rattan, as it is the thinner material that results from the process of stripping the rattan palm.“
