I didn’t pay very much attention to art in my 20’s. I found it perplexing and I wasn’t sure what my style was or if I even had one! It’s taken a few years of observation and developing my own taste but I’ve come to realize that not only do I love art but I also have a very distinct appreciation for a few specific styles (more surrealist/less abstract, more portraits/less still life, more minimalist/less vibrant, etc.).

Finding good, affordable art is another story, however. These days, I usually decorate with a mix of original art that typically costs more and less expensive reprints that are still true to my taste. Did you know that Etsy is an absolute treasure trove when it comes to finding good art for your home? From instant downloads you can print yourself to beautiful one of a kind originals, there is literally something for every one and every space on Etsy.

2. Chaos and Wonder Design
Chaos and Wonder Design is one of my favourite Etsy art shops! It is where I purchased the collage’d couples that you see below that are hanging in our home office/guest room. I always get questions about these prints and I can say the instant download was 100% worth it! Not only were they insanely affordable, I was able to take them to my local FedEx to be printed on their matte paper which took just one day. I framed them in affordable gold frames from Target and voila! Almost instant gratification and tons of impact.

3. Heirloom Print Shop
Heirloom Print Shop has the nicest collection of vintage landscapes! I can say that confidently having seen quite a few by now what with vintage landscapes being the hottest thing in interior art trends right now. I love their moody and contemplative Ocean and Cloud Paintings the most. The collection is tightly curated and includes landscapes plus a few botanicals and portraits. I would happily add any of their pieces to my own home!
4. BArt Prints
BArt Prints is such an amazing resource for museum posters! All prints are digital downloads only and come in a variety of styles so you can choose which size to print. From Matisse and Picasso to abstract art prints, this is a great resource whether you want to add just a single pop of colour to your space or create a gallery wall! Here are a few of my favourites although it was tough narrowing it down!
5. Brittany Smith Studio
I first discovered Brittany’s floral oil paintings on Instagram and followed her through to Etsy to purchase a print of her original work for myself! It currently has pride of place on our fireplace mantel as seen below. The colours in this print are beautifully saturated and pair perfectly with my thrifted vintage frame. Brittany also happens to be one of the sweetest people to befriend- I highly recommend following her on Instagram to say hello AND know when her next drop of florals and landscapes will debut!
6. Siggel
Siggel are from Oslo, Norway and their art encompasses that minimalist, bold, graphic and monochromatic Scandinavian aesthetic that refuses to be a passing trend. There is nothing more classic than black and white, right? I’m considering one of their bold, oversized pieces for our hallway which is currently lacking major personality.
7. Amanda Tanner Art
Amanda Tanner paints absolutely stunning American landscapes in oil. You can purchase her originals or prints of her work and I am in love! My two favourites are shown below. Her current collection leans into blues and greens with pops of yellow and it is both vibrant and subdued. Looking at her art stirs up wanderlust and has me dreaming of road trips through Wyoming.
I hope this was useful in helping you discover new artists and Etsy art shops! Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!
