I’m so pleased to share an art tour of my home with you today! My budding art collection is one of the design elements I’m most proud of even though I own just a couple of actual original one-of-a-kind pieces of art BUT I hope this house tour will show you that art doesn’t have to be expensive or original in order to make an impact.

PORTRAIT OF A HEART ON FIRE
Let’s start the art tour with the print that everyone in the family calls Girl on Fire even though it’s actual title is Portrait of a Heart on Fire hah. I’ve always been a huge fan of surrealist art. I discovered Christian Schloe while browsing through Society 6 and, the minute I saw her, I knew I had to have her. She definitely makes a statement! Quality-wise, I will say that she’s not the crispest print I own but having her behind glass definitely helps to sharpen the colours. I should also note that you can’t really tell, unless you’re a graphic designer used to checking print quality (Hi!), but it is a detail worth knowing if you’re contemplating this purchase. I popped this print into a frame from Target that is no longer available but here is a good alternative.
HUG MORE (OFTEN)
Next up, is this Hug More print from Etsy. I’ve loved this print ever since I spotted it on the site. The print quality on this one is excellent, btw, and I love that it comes on lightly textured paper and is signed in pencil by the artist. It is such a simple piece but it always elicits a smile from visitors, especially the kids’ friends! If there was one piece of art I own that I’d classify as “feel good”, it’s this!
REMEMBER ME
We own a handful of original pieces by artists I’ve discovered on Instagram and whose work I’ve instantly fallen in love with! Octavia Tomyn is one of those artists. Based out of Australia, Octavia’s line art drawings are simple, eloquent and powerful and I absolutely knew I needed one in our home. This is a limited edition fine art print in the A3 size and it is titled “Remember Me“. It’s in a frame from Amazon with a custom mat from Matboard and More.
KLIMT INSPIRED FLORAL FIELDS
This next piece of original art is from an artist, and now a friend- Brittany Smith. She specializes in beautiful, vintage-inspired florals. This particular piece (Klimt Inspired Floral Fields) struck me because of it’s colour palette and I often use it throughout my house when I’m styling vignettes for Instagram or just want to enjoy a pop of colour at home.
DAY 22
Jamie Beck is an American photographer who moved to Provence just before the pandemic. During France’s exceptionally long lockdown, she created one photographic masterpiece a day. It was really hard to choose as each of her photographs were stunning but Day 22 appealed to me straight away because of the yellow tulips.
VINTAGE ART
Attica Press is one of my favourite online stores for purchasing vintage art! Not only is her selection a little bit different from the usual landscapes but the print quality is INCREDIBLE. I literally cannot tell you good it is. The prints are velvety and rich and it is almost a shame to hide them behind glass. If there’s one piece you want to purchase from this post, make it something from Attica! I promise you won’t regret it! ALSO. I will soon be doing a giveaway of five pieces I’ve curated from the Attica Press collection so make sure to follow me on Instagram to enter!

Two of the pieces which will be included in the Attica Press giveaway on Instagram! Gertie in a Fur Coat and The Beach

Another piece (Dutch Flowers) up for grabs in the giveaway with Attica Press!

MOUNTAINS AND WAVES
Next, I have this print of Santa Monica beach that was taken by my friend, Gina. I still love it so much! I’ve been at this exact place on the pier and it reminds me of our early days in LA and getting acquainted with this very new and different place from Toronto. The poster frame is from Target.
IDYLLIC LANDSCAPE
This lovely landscape is from none other than the very first Studio McGee collection for Target! I love everything about it and especially that it came so beautifully framed! The photo below shows one of the framed pieces from their second collection for Target layered behind another one of Brittany’s beautiful painted pieces- this time a landscape she kindly gifted to me.

SO EXTRA
I won’t lie- I’m pretty obsessed with this next print! For one, it’s titled “So Extra” which makes me laugh every time I remember. For another, it is so beautiful and quirky- how could you not love it? This is hanging above my older daughter’s bed and my only regret is not purchasing a larger size!
ETSY GEMS
Etsy is a veritable treasure trove of art and the place I go to first to find something! With the exception of the Hug More print, the rest of the prints I’ve bought from Etsy have been digital downloads that I then have printed at my local FedEx/Kinkos. Use their matte poster print option. It gives perfect results each time. I always buy my frames from Target. Their Made by Design collection is great quality and affordable. You can’t go wrong!

FAMILY GALLERY WALL
This is the gallery wall in our home and one of my most popular posts always on Instagram. It is mostly full of old and new family photos but I thought it would be fun to share it anyway as it is such a big, focal point of art in our home. (Have you seen the easiest Ikea Tarva Dresser Hack yet, btw?) The chandelier is the Pelle Gooseneck Chandelier from West Elm (discontinued). The table and chairs from Facebook Marketplace and the wall colour is Benjamin Moore Gentleman’s Grey.
YOUTH AND OLD AGE
I had to save the best for last! Wrapping up this art tour is this beautiful piece of original art by a Romanian artist who used to live in Vasarhely. It is a sketch of youth and old age and is one of my most treasured pieces!
