Today, I’m revealing Rumi’s nursery mood board and sharing how we updated the space from home office/guest room/library to nursery, showcasing minimalist kitchen goods from Etsy, and showing you 7 stylish ways to display houseplants. Let’s go!
1. Rumi’s Moody & Modern Nursery Design
Friends, this is what I’ve learned: Shooting spaces when you have a baby with nap time during good day light hours is incredibly tough lol. Until I can get to take photos of Rumi’s nursery that I’m happy with, here is a preview of what it looks like! You may recognize this space as our former home office/guest room/library. After she was born, it was the only space in the house we could easily convert to a nursery so that is exactly what we did!
We swapped the desks for a Facebook Marketplace dresser which we spray painted black (it was originally white). A little antique gold Rub’n’Buff on the handles took them from bronze to beautiful. We also brought in a rocking chair and crib, both from Facebook Marketplace too. Et voila! The nursery was ready! It turns out dark green is a wonderful wall colour to create a cozy space for a baby so we kept the walls as is: the paint colour is Benjamin Moore In the Garden from their Aura collection- I highly recommend both colour and paint!
