Today, I’m sharing my love for transitional design, showcasing an Etsy shop I love and giving you a free and inspiring printable!
1. Transitional Design
You might have seen the words transitional design pop up now and again as you scrolled through Instagram or Pinterest. It is a hugely popular decor style at the moment and for good reason- think of it as the perfect balance between modern and traditional. It is a considered and curated style that is timless and thoughtful. Think neutrals with accents in darker colours like black, navy and green. From what I’ve observed, transitional spaces typically feature either Moroccan or Persian style rugs and add lots of texture in decor and accessories alongside natural fabrics like linen. Stripes and prints are usually on a smaller scale, plants are a focal point and art is prominent- mostly of the vintage variety like oil landscapes, still life or portraits. It is understated but impactful and is definitely a favourite of mine because of those reasons!
Here are a few examples of transitional living room design.

2. Best of Etsy: Monica Saxton
Often times as I browse Etsy, I come across stores where literally everything ends up on my wish list. Monica Saxton is one of them. Here are a few of their pieces (almost all, tbh lol because I couldn’t decide!).
Happy shopping!
3. Words to Live By and a Free Printable to Inspire!
“There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” – Jawaharlal Nehru
This is one of my all-time favourite quotes and something I keep in mind as I navigate through life in all my roles. I firmly believe, and have experienced, all of the good things that happen when you keep an open mind about new experiences. I’ve also been on the other side of living through a fearful lens and dreading change and all I’ll say about that is “0/10, Would not recommend”.
Here’s the link to the free printable (ZIP file). I hope you’ll put it up in your home and that it will inspire you too!
