The palm tree is having somewhat of a moment lately. I’ve been seeing it pop up in my Pinterest feed more and more. I feel this will be the Year of the Palm and I could not be more excited. It is definitely not for the faint of the heart. When it goes wrong (think Hawaiian print shirts in ombré red to orange *shudder*), it can be so very, very wrong, but when it’s done right (as in the gorgeous green iconic-in-its-own-right Brazilliance Palm print by Dorothy Draper), well then, stand back because nothing else compares. It’s bold and eclectic and practically begs to be partnered with gold. It is playful but not silly, can be sophisticated but never stuffy, and is forever an icon of a relaxed, luxe lifestyle surrounded by sun, sand and sea. Personally, I’m completely obsessed with the watercolour palm leaf print from Aestate. I must own it stat. Tell me what stands out for you!
